So Sad

My brother once received an email with the same subject line about the pillsbury dough boy dying a tragic death in the oven.  Have no fear, bro, this is not that bad.

Paul is leaving on Sunday morning for NC for a week long conference on... communication, I think. (One can only assume, as the Bertolone men pride themselves on retaining key points of information unless directly asked.  For instance Paul's work day might go something like this:
Wakes up early, gets to chat a little about Thomas J with some co-workers, reads a few books, leaves for lunch, hits a pedestrian, runs over someone's dog (while they watch) and then goes back to work.  Now, while normal people might call their wives up at the first sign of a crisis (i.e. hitting someone or something with their car), the Paul I know will reply to a "How is your day going?" question with, "ugh, it's been grr."  And unless I pry, (which I will admit I am actually quite good at doing) and ask him DIRECTLY, "did you hit anyone or anything with your car??"  The information may never be delivered by him. But I digress...)
So he leaves for a week, and I have to admit I'm a little nervous.  I don't know why, I did it all the time the first 2 years we lived here, but it was only with one kid.  Now I have two.  Two children who's schedule couldn't be any different.  I am not really worried about the weekdays as Ethan starts full time at Cherry Blossom Preschool on Monday, but the weeknights, when I am totally used to having some sort of relief or at least an adult ear, is gonna be tough.
Getting Ethan to bed is a task and a half.  He has to pick just the right cars, and it's always one more than I tell him he's allowed, he wants books and books and books read to him, songs sung, over and over, and when you finally do get to leave the room, he is up at least 3 times asking to go pee before finally falling asleep.  Add to this a drama queen that needs full eye contact at all times (which I really can't complain about cause she is kinda cute), and a dog that finds someway to get into something downstairs while I'm distracted.  I know it's not bad, but it's my blog, and I'll cry if I want to.  We all know how hard it is to have your man away, no matter the amount of time.  It just plain sucks.  I just wish that wasn't a part of this military lifestyle.  Oh well, maybe I'll just buy myself a new camera as a "way to go, you did it" gift.
