MTSU takes home the Sunbelt Championship 2010!!!!!

In case anyone missed it...
The Ladies Volleyball team over at MTSU took home the Championship title on Saturday Nov 19. (Well, really they accepted it at home! THe first team to do that in over a decade actually!)
The game was pretty intense, I had no idea that volleyball was that action packed! Those are some girls I would not want to mess with!
I was honored to have the privilege to sing the National Anthem at the game, and really felt amazing to be a part of that. Those girls will remember that game for the rest of their lives! And I was there!
If you haven't seen the video yet, here it is...

And let me just say how thankful I am for all my friends and family that have showered me with compliments and encouraging words. You have no idea how much that helps when I'm standing in front of 1000 people hoping I don't forget the words. SO thank you to YOU!
Have a great Thanksgiving and be safe!

It's a Party!

The invites are out! Ethan is very excited! He has made some great friends at his school and he's really looking forward to having them come for a birthday party next weekend! It'll be a small get together at the park, but huge fun!

Flooding

Ok, when I said interesting, I guess I said a mouthful. I had no idea that the day would come to this.
Currently I am watching a Mayor's press conference about the flooding here in Middle TN. We have had over 12 inches of rain in some areas and there is one confirmed drowning. The current is picking up buildings and floating them away and then destroying them due to the amount of pressure built up by the water.
For those who know the area, 1-24 and Bell Rd (Hickory Hollow area) was COMPLETELY flooded. This is about 20 minutes north west from us.

Please keep all the folks in our area in your prayers. We've had 3 tornado warnings and several watches. They still expect MORE rain (up to 5 inches) for tonight and tomorrow.
So far, our neighborhood is still above water, but it could all change over night.
Ok, and the news just now issued a new tornado watch.
Please keep us in your thoughts.
Thank you!

I Feel the Earth. Move. Under my Feet.

..I feel the sky tumballin' down.... (Carole King)
Ok, so maybe it wasn't that bad, but still, an earthquake is pretty darn scary!
Ethan and I were enjoying the 329th viewing of CARS, when all of a sudden it felt like someone was picking up the couch.  I literally thought Louie was somehow moving the furniture (his whopping 10 lb.).  I looked over to see the leaves on my plant trembling.  The entertainment center was still wobbling for a good 20 seconds.  It doesn't sound like that long, but sit still, count to 20 and imagine the whole house being rocked back and forth for that long.  It was kind of frightening.  I grabbed Ethan (who had no idea of what was happening) and pulled him toward me.  Louie ran in his crate.  And Hannah, well she was sleeping and she continued to sleep.  So I guess it wasn't that bad.  Paul called just as I was checking on her to see if we were ok.  He was at work and said all the keys on the filing cabinets were jingling.  I walked into the kitchen and my corkscrew that's hanging from a hook under the cupboards was still swaying side to side.  I have a felt a couple other ones since we've been here, but this was the longest by far.  One in the apartment, that was just a big thud and I thought someone had ran a car into the building, and another while in labor with Hannah.  That one was more intense seeing as we were on the 5th floor of the hospital.  So, there you have it, an earthquake, totally blog-worthy news.
Oh, and Hannah's sitting up. :)
