We're Free!

The restriction was lifted last Tuesday for civilians and non-active duty personnel. They still have a curfew and are not allowed to drink off base. Which pretty much doesn't affect us at all. We're lame, so we're usually in by 10 (the curfew) anyway. So, everything is pretty much back to normal, and Starbucks is my friend again.
I will say, though, that the day I did decide to go out in town for the first time following all these events, I felt some animosity from the locals. It was weird, I don't know if it was just paranoia or if it was real, but it was awkward, nonetheless. I felt as if they were saying things like, oh, yeah, the restriction got lifted and they're all back. But then I felt very welcomed by the cashiers and people taking any money from me! How funny! Oh well, it's all over, and the girl who originally accused the marine of rape has dropped all charges. Funny how things work out.
A big fuss over nothing.

So, in other news, we got out this past weekend and took some nice walks around the beach and seawall, the only part we'll miss about this place. It was cool to see the sun set over the ocean and stroll along the coast, beautiful. I wouldn't mind coming back here, but my kids would have to be a bit older, so we could actually enjoy things without screwing up their schedules and such.
Things are going good though, I am trying out for Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on Wed (Shout out to my bro!-Happy B-day man!), so if I get the part, I will be very busy before my parents come and then very busy after...but it is always worth it.
Then! They are doing Guys and Dolls in the Fall!!!!!!!!!! You have no idea how cool this is! I started my theater experience as a curtain girl for Guys and Dolls when I was like 14, and ever since then I always wanted to play Adelaide. But I would just be happy to be in it, period, so we'll see what happens.
I also am going to start selling hats at the gift shop on base. They are crocheted caps for babies and toddlers. My neighbor is PCS'ing, so I'm kinda taking over her business. I hope it works out.
Well, gotta get out the door, but I wanted to drop a quick update. Hope everyone is well!
